A great question was asked in LIFEgroup last night, “How do you know if you have totally surrendered to The Lord?” Remember the battle is between partial surrender (Luke 18:18-30) and total surrender (Luke 19:1-10).
The way we know if we are totally surrendered is when you think and respond Christian. When this is happening we know the Holy Spirit is doing His work from within and we are responding. This is true in demonstrating love, forgiveness, help, etc. it is also seen as we see that same surrender under His grace. We are going to sin and we can begin to question our surrender, unless we have surrendered to His grace. His grace covers us in our surrender.
Philippians 2:5 says, “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5 ESV).
Total surrender’s self-revelation is when you “love the Lord Your God with all your mind”. I think we see how it works in a very brief description of Ezra,
For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord , and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel. (Ezra 7:10 ESV)
Total surrender sets your heart on the study of the Word of God, sets your heart on doing it and teaches it to others.
